Jean Jacques Lequeu (1757-1826), exhibition

11/12/2018 - 31/03/2019

Builder of fantasies.

Jean Jacques Lequeu is a mysterious artist. An architect by profession and an artist from the shadows who died in complete destitution, he was recognised after his death for the precision of his lineography and the modernity of his subjects. The artist took a lucid yet cruel, blunt yet fantasised look at his time where no one, not even himself, was spared.
Come and discover the unique style of this 18th-century painter who was recognised too late and yet whose works display an incredible modernity.
