Medieval Museum in Paris - Cluny thermal baths & hotel
The National Medieval Museum, located near the Sorbonne, in the Hotel de Cluny and Paris's Gallo-Roman bathhouses, was founded in 1843 and displays art collections donated to the state over the years.
Becoming richer every year, the National Medieval Museum today presents a unique view of the art and culture of the Middle Ages.
The collections bring together sculptures stained-glass, objets d'art, illuminated manuscripts and tapestries, including the famous Dame à la Licorne, a masterpiece woven around 1500.
Since 2000, the National Medieval Museum
has had a magnificent medieval garden, designed by Eric Ossart and Arnaud Maurières.
