Jardin des plantes

The Jardin des Plantes has been an institution in Paris for several centuries. Created in 1635 by Louis XIII, this large walled garden is a paradise for nature lovers and anyone with an interest in botany or natural sciences.
As well as being home to some 15,000 plants of 8,500 different species, the Jardin des Plantes also houses the Natural History Museum, and a small menagerie.
Enjoy a moment of complete tranquillity as you stroll among the flowers, visit the museum's galleries and the tropical greenhouses, or meet the animals who live in the garden.
