Musée du Luxembourg - Luxembourg Museum

Built under the regency of Marie de Medici in 1615, the Luxembourg Palace now aims to present original and ambitious art exhibitions. As well as housing the museum, the Palace is also the seat of the Senate. As far as history is concerned, it was the first French museum to open to the public in 1750. It became the leading museum of contemporary art in France in 1818.

Completely rebuilt between 2011 and 2013, under the leadership of the RMN(Réunion des musées nationaux), its new manager, the Luxembourg Museum offers exhibitions organised around three themes: the Renaissance in Europe, Art and Power and the Palace, the Garden and the Museum: Luxembourg in the heart of Paris, capital of the arts.
